Journey
Katie White is a professional artist and teacher in Tampa, Florida. She received her BFA in Graphic Communications from Washington University in St. Louis, where she focused on Editorial Illustration. After having 2 children, she taught elementary art before becoming a professional artist. Her work has been shown in various galleries across the southeast and stores such as Serena & Lily, Pottery Barn, Ballard Designs, and William & Sonoma Home.

Personal Life
Katie enjoys traveling with her husband and 2 young adult boys. When taking a break from the studio, you can find her reading, hanging out with her two dogs or taking long walks.
Education
Katie's academic journey began at Washington University in St. Louis, where she earned her BFA in Illustration, followed by a summer program at the Rhode Island School of Design which further refined her artistic techniques and vision.

What happens to all the art you create on your videos?This might be the most popular question I get! If I like them, I sell them at pop ups. They are such great little treasures to put in a bookshelf or add to a desk. I believe everyone should have an original piece of art no matter the size. PS: They don’t all make it to the “keep” pile and that’s ok… because it’s about the process, not the end product.

What paper do you use for watercolors?I use both 140lb and 300lb cold press watercolor paper made by Arches, IG: @archespapers.

What is your favorite watercolor painting?I use a lot of different brands. I also have no problem mixing them all together. I get great results with M. Graham and Maimeri Blu.
